Emergency Medical Technician

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has been providing trained and certified Emergency Medical Technicians to the citizens of Los Angeles County for many years.  Although the program is primarily designed for the Department's eight search and rescue teams, many personnel assigned to other specialized units are also trained as EMT'S. These include the special weapons team, dive team, search dog team, patrol boat teams, beach teams and narcotics units.

Sheriff's Department EMT'S are highly trained individuals who can be mobilized at a moments notice in the event of any disaster.  Most of the personnel are  Reserve  Deputies, but regular (full-time) personnel are also trained in this intensive program.
